Heavy MTL offers fans a variety of delicious festival foods such as burgers, subs and sandwiches, pizza and more. Beverages from water to beer and other spirits can be purchased on site.

Heavy MTL festival goers may bring a clear plastic water bottle with them on site, and water refill stations will be provided. Festival goers may be asked to empty their bottle before entering the festival. No alcohol may be brought in from outside of the festival.

The legal drinking age in Quebec is 18 years old. If you are planning on consuming alcohol at the festival, please bring two (2) valid pieces of ID and be sure to drink responsibly.

While fun and great entertainment is a definite priority at Heavy MTL, it is important to be respectful of your surroundings, other festival goers, and festival staff to ensure that every Heavy MTL fan has the time of their life. That being said, please follow these guidelines while attending Heavy MTL

> Please make an effort to recycle/throw out all litter. No one likes a dirty festival site!

> Please be polite to festival staff and festival-goers (though crowds congregate around the stages, please do not push your way through crowds, cut into lines, etc)

> Respect Parc Jean-Drapeau and the Heavy MTL site. Please leave the site as you find it upon entering Heavy MTL. Do not remove signs, banners, or posters from the festival site. Do not climb or damage trees, sculptures, etc.

Heavy MTL is an all-ages event.  Children aged 10 years and younger are admitted for free when accompanied by an adult with a valid Heavy MTL ticket.

Heavy MTL is one of North-America’s premier destination heavy music festivals and takes place in Montréal, Québec, Canada.

Since the first edition of the festival took place in June 2008 the Heavy MTL lineup has seen the likes of bands such as Iron Maiden, Mötley Crüe, Disturbed, Three Days Grace, Dethklok, Anthrax, Type O Negative, Mastodon, Kiss, Alice Cooper, Megadeth, Slayer and many others shred their way through an intense two-day celebration of heavy music.

Heavy MTL 2012 will be held on August 11th and 12th in the breathtaking site that is Parc Jean-Drapeau at Île Saint-Hélène, Montréal. On Friday, August 10th, Heavy MTL will hold a “Heavy In The City” event on the island of Montreal.

August in Montreal is most often warm and sunny, so bring plenty of sunscreen and some shades to protect yourself from the sun. Needless to say, please do come prepared for less ideal weather. We suggest bringing a pocket-sized poncho, and a sweatshirt / windbreaker just in case the weather isn’t so warm and sunny.

The special edition ticket is a limited edition collectible that serves as your ticket for the weekend. It features a unique design based on the 2012 theme and 3D graphics. The perfect way to say “I Was There!” available as an upgrade to your General Admission Weekend Pass, and included for all Reserved Seating Access Weekend Passes. 

There is no camping available at Parc Jean-Drapeau. If you wish to camp while you’re in town for Heavy MTL, you may wish to contact:
